Britney Spears

I am watching the news this morning and I can’t believe the coverage Britney Spears is getting this morning.  They have teams of reporters and so called mental health experts covering this story.  I have to laugh because the reporter keeps talking about how the police tried very hard to keep this a secret…. Really, did anyone else see the freaking motorcade to the hospital!!  You would have thought it was the president’s.

 It is very sad to see this young woman self destruct before our eyes.  Whats really sad to me, is I don’t think she has anyone close to her, including family, that really cares for her best interest.  Very similar to watching Anna Nicole Smith self destruct in the public eye.  It disgust me that so many are enjoying wathing “the show” as they call it.  I really hope and pray she gets the help she needs.

Tonight, while putting my youngest daughter Hailey to bed, she put her hand on my cheek and said ” I love you daddy”. 

 Words cannot describe just  how good I feel right now.

I am a huge fan of the show Mythbusters on The Discovery Channel.  Next week, Jan. 30th at 9:00pm to be exact, they are going to be tackling a myth that me and some friends have been debating for a while.  You may have hear this one before, but if not it goes like this:  If you had an airplane on a huge treadmill or conveyor belt.  And you started the planes engines and reached take off speed… Would the plane take off?  My first answer was no.  You need air moving over the wings to create lift. So if the plane is on a huge treadmill there would be no wind over the wings…. right?  But after looking into it and reading some online debates on this very subject, I believe the plane would take off. 

 Think about it…  Anyone agree or disagree with me? 

 Anyway, I can’t wait to see what the team at Mythbusters comes up with.  Remember to set your DVR or VCR or whatever you have: Jan. 30th @ 9:00pm on The Discovery Channel

Washington to the rescue

So I’m listening to the news this morning while getting ready for work, and they are all abuzz about the Economic Incentive package that the White House and Congress are working like mad to rush through and get passed. In case you haven’t heard, we’re headed for another great depression. So Washington has decided it is time for action now (election year). So what is the plan? Well, they’re going to send out money that they don’t have (increasing national debt), to people who will hopefully spend it as soon as they get it, therefor boosting the economy.

Here’s what got my attention this morning. The checks are not going to be sent to anyone with an income of more the $200k per year. Because these people typically “are less likely to spend the money and more likely to save it”. Imagine that, people who have money don’t spend it frivolously.  The government wants you to be more like it… DON’T DO IT!!

I think Washington has it wrong though.  Your annual income doesn’t determine how well you manage your money.  I have counseled people with six figure incomes, living in a million dollar home, and on the verge of losing it all because they spend more than they make and don’t have a plan for what they spend. I now people who make much less and have six figure bank accounts.  I don’t have either but I know what I’m going to do if and when I get my economic stimulous…. I am going to put it here.
